Having achieved a guaranteed return of £100,000 over three years on their catering contract, Rob Carling, Vice Principle (Business) at Coopers School said of SBC
“The Schools Buying Club (SBC) has supported Coopers School with two complex contract lets, catering and printing/photocopying where the school did not have the skills in-house to run and manage the procurement process.
At all stages of the process the SBC provided timely and accurate information and facilitated on-site meetings with potential contractors working with the school to ensure contractors had all the relevant information to supply a tender bid. They fully evaluated the bids making clear recommendations based on experience, quality and price. The school not only achieved VFM from the outcome but real cost savings and service improvement.”
Coopers School is a secondary Academy located in the suburb of Chislehurst in the London Borough of Bromley. The school specialises in technology and occupies one large site spanning multiple faculty buildings.
Due to various catering service delivery constraints and the sheer size of the school, Coopers asked Schools’ Buying Club to assist them in seeking proposals.
Having run a successful, compliant tendering process, Chartwells were chosen as the successful bidder, securing the school a contract with a guaranteed return of £100,000 over 3 years.
